The olympiad
The olympiad was their answer: a paper in the manner of those examinations, sat once a year from the first grade, so that by the time the real examination comes the format is old news. The first olympiad was held in a handful of schools. It is now held every year in schools in more than ten countries.
Who sets the papers
Papers are written and reviewed by a small editorial group of practising teachers and examiners. Each paper is checked against the current format of the examination it is modelled on and trialled with pupils of the right age before it is used.
National partners
In each country the olympiad is delivered by an accredited national partner, an educational organisation that works with schools locally. The partner registers schools, sets the dates for its country, supplies the papers, marks them under Exam Trainer’s marking scheme and issues the diplomas and the analysis of results. Exam Trainer itself does not deal with individual schools or families.
